Fabulous at 40! Celebrating 40 Years of London Fashion Week

For the second of our monthly e-mag updates, the Business Development Team takes a look back on the recent London Fashion Week and our highlights from the AW24 shows.

For four days every February, the global fashion industry descends on our capital to celebrate British Fashion and our nation’s rich association with design. Now in its fortieth year, this edition of London Fashion Week was especially memorable and LFW40 boasted a rich schedule with a diverse range of physical and digital events.

Day 1 of Fashion Week set the tone for a week of celebrations and began with the LFW Opening Breakfast kindly hosted by our friends and industry colleagues at the British Fashion Council. Fuelled by caffeine and the promise of creativity to come, this was a brilliant opportunity to catch up with professionals from all sides of the industry before joining again for the evening’s opening party.

Glamour aside, the LFW40 roster saw some of our most long-standing clients, Roksanda, Erdem, Molly Goddard, 16 Arlington and David Koma debut their AW24 collections. Just some of the scheduled names that we are lucky enough to have be part of the ‘Zedonk family’, it is worth noting that out of the sixty physical shows listed on the week’s official calendar, more than a quarter of the brands showing this season regularly log, create and manage their collections on Zedonk.

From Simone Rocha’s whimsical presentation in St. Bartholomew’s Church to Joanna Lumley’s starring role in the Completed Works’ presentation, the imagination of our clients knows no bounds.

Of course, we could not talk about fashion week without mentioning the exceptional pool of home-grown talent nurtured through the BFC Foundation. As official Patrons of the British Fashion Council- and more specifically, the BFC NEWGEN initiative- supporting emerging designers is a pleasure and a privilege for Zedonk.

Paying homage to her Greek heritage with her AW collection, ‘The Body As Prayer’, we would like to say a special congratulations to designer Dimitra Petsa for the invite to her star-studded runway show. Thank you!

London Fashion Week, and the work they do to foster untapped potential, is something we should all be proud of. A hub of creativity, community and expression for forty years, Britain’s fashion industry, and the individuals within it, are stitched into the fabric of our nation and will continue to clothe our culture for years to come.

Happy Birthday London Fashion Week! We shall see you in September.
