Postcard from Paris: Men’s Fashion Week January 2024

Two weeks on since we visited Europe’s fashion capital, Zedonk’s Business Development Team want to reflect on some of our favourite highlights from Men’s Fashion Week January 2024.

Fresh off the Eurostar, we took to the heart of the Marais District and visited the Gaîté Lyrique for Tranoi Men and Pre-Fall Spring Summer 24. Attended by a variety of brands, international businesses were more represented than ever before, and we were delighted to discover new brands from a variety of markets, including Asia, Korea, Japan and South America.

Of course, no trade show visit is complete without saying a hello to Clients too! Alongside new labels, it was also lovely to see Zedonker Teija debuting her new RTW line alongside the core collection pieces that have long been logged on our servers.

.

On day two, we chased our morning coffee with a visit to Welcome Editions Showrooms on Paris’s ‘Rue De Lappe’. Spread across four floors and two halls, the atmosphere was electric. Bustling with buyers, brands and Industry experts, we were proud to see so many more Zedonkers present their collections as part of the exceptional edit this season.

A special mention must also go to our Clients that chose to present in their own spaces. Tackling Paris, New York and Copenhagen in a matter of weeks, the french outpost adopted by Options Distribution was impressive to see. As long-standing customers and friends, it is a privilege to witness our Zedonkers ‘in the field’, using our software to streamline the processes that their business relies on.

The final day of our trip was dedicated to partnerships old and new. As an official partner of Paris Fashion Week and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, lending support to the fiercely talented brands selected to be part of the Sphere showroom is always an honour. From the embellished, floral-inspired tailoring at Steven Passaro, to the bold, textural layers at Lagos Space Programme, the ingenuity and creativity of the emerging designers selected continues to excel year on year.

Consolidating existing relationships whilst forging new ones, the trip also marked Zedonk’s first as an member of the Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin’s ‘Écosystème De La Mode’. As a part of the recommended services provided within this directory, we are incredibly proud to be affiliated with such a respected institutional body and feel it only further enriches our already-established offering to French fashion brands.

As we prepare for further travels and fashion week in our home city of London, it goes without saying that Paris Fashion Week is always a worthwhile event in the Zedonk calendar.

Despite recent challenges of rising prices, manufacturing and retail costs, the future of the fashion industry remains undoubtedly bright. With designers, brands and showrooms all demonstrating a renewed resilience and excitement for the industry as it returns to pre-Covid health, one sentiment appears to ring true, Paris is always a good idea.
